Progress

Yesterday was a good day. I know not all days will be this productive and rewarding, but yesterday was. Started yesterday morning @ 4:30 studying the book of Exodus which I am teaching at the Residency Program, The Well Community Church’s 9 month journey through the Old Testament. Few things light my fire like teaching God’s word, or- for that matter, can get me out of bed at such an hour- I’m pretty sure Jesus was still asleep. Walked through Moses leadership development plan from God- 40 years of pleasure as a grandson to Pharaoh, then 40 years of obscurity in the desert. All that to prepare Moses for the last 40 years of his life- Interesting way to think through our lives- the first 2/3 was preparation for the last 1/3. Interesting given I turn 34 this month.

On to an Every Neighborhood staff meeting at 8- wind in my sails being around passionate individuals. Shared the Off the Front vision with a friend, then met with a guy wrestling with his own holy discontent- Then to lunch with Artie Padilla, my good friend and new boss at ENP, to talk about Off the Front with 3 guys making a difference in Fresno. Artie and I then met with Kim Collins, the principal at Susan B Anthony Elementary schools, to talk details of
implementing Off the Front at out first school. Mrs. Collins is passionate about helping kids succeed in the classroom and is fired up about what OTF can accomplish. Finished that meeting and went straight to Sports Authority to talk with their General Manager to talk about getting bikes for our program. Awesome to see people wanting to help and pulling strings to help bless kid’s lives.

All in all, a great day. People are getting behind Off the Front and their passion is contagious. Awesome!
